Xenon lights provide better overall lighting than normal Halogen, with several other bonuses: The superior light spread, penetration and luminance of Xenon lights provides a much safer night ride and reduces driver fatigue, and the system runs cooler (temp) and draws less power from your alternator and saves the switches from melting. Lifespan can be up to 10x longer than Halogen. Xenon HID bulbs do not have filaments like Halogen bulbs. Instead, the light is created by a high voltage electrical discharge between two electrodes in an air tight quartz capsule. This capsule is filled with amongst others: Xenon gas, Mercury and Metal Halide particles. Because the Xenon bulb does not have a filament, it is considered more reliable than Halogen bulbs. A Halogen bulb's constant heating-up and cooling down, makes the filament brittle (causes frequent bulb failure in off-road conditions due to extreme vibration).
