Mounting Options for Gauges

There are various mounting options for 52mm round analog or “square” digital gauges. The mounting plates are made of brushed stainless steel and are therefore shiny silver. A little bit of Bling for your Landy.

The long oval plates fit all Defenders except the newer Td5 models with the revised centre console.

The On-dash panel is suitable for Discovery 1 and 2 and Newer Defender Td5. Alternatively the Flat panel plate can be used for newer Defender Td5s.

MUD Centre Consoles

The MUD Centre Console solves the problem of where to mount those extra switches and gauges in the Defender dashboard without having to resort to a homemade DIY dashboard or making the common mistake of sourcing the 02 model dash panel only to discover its installation requires far more work than you first thought! The MUD Console is supplied as a blank moulding to provide the user the flexibility to create their own unique dash layout that best satisfies their requirements.

The unique design of the MUD Centre Console allows you to mount your Radio/ CD head unit into one of TWO positions within the console and still leave plenty of room for all those other bits (like an EMS1 Monitor) while at the same time presenting a factory look and a quality finish.

The two recessed mouldings within the console provide a neat method of relocating the standard rear-wash wipe switch (if fitted) and the 12v cigar lighter/power socket. These together with the areas immediately over the circular mouldings also provides an additional surface for mounting extra switches, gauges, cell phone holder etc, etc...

For that finishing touch, the MUD Console is fitted with an additional recessed oval moulding designed to accept many of the Land Rover logo badges used on or around Land Rovers over the years. Alternatively, we offer a selection of Land Rover Genuine Parts oval logos to compliment the MUD Console perfectly.

The MUD Console takes into consideration the demands and needs of the Defender driver whether it's purely for leisure use or competition abuse. That's why each MUD Console comes as a blank moulding for you to create your own truly unique dashboard design based upon your own specific needs and requirements. The flexibility of the MUD Console means the design and layout permutations for your own dash centre console are endless.

Aside from being able to accept a standard DIN sized CD/Tuner head unit in either the upper or lower positions, we also gave careful consideration when designing both the mouldings within the console that they should be able accommodate the most popular dashboard additions found in Defenders today. The recesses within the MUD Console will accept the standard sized 52mm auxiliary gauges and/or the popular Durite/Eaton modular 'New Generation' switches (See http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/Carlingswitches.html). Obviously, another advantage of us supplying the console to you as a blank moulding is that it allows you to reuse any existing switches you may already have installed in your vehicle. Please note that the MUD Dash Console does not come with switches/gauges.

The MUD Console also provides the ideal spot for mounting a CB radio.
